Turkington Construction have completed the handover of their latest successful project, the newly redesigned Harbourgate Building, known as Clare House, which is located in the Belfast Harbour Estate.

Clare House will provide open plan office accommodation for the Construction Procurement Directorate (CPD) and will be a pathfinder project for the NI Civil Service’s 2010 Estates Project.  The office accommodation will cater for approximately 500 staff, and has been designed to maximise light and create a bright open-plan working environment.

Ostick and Williams were appointed as the project Architects to undertake the detail design and architectural construction support.  Turkington Construction in conjunction with the Architects and the Client Project Team were able to develop the scheme, which includes the provision of a new atrium and roof lantern to increase natural lighting levels and improve vertical communication within the deep plan office space. The design of the new south facing staff restaurant and gymnasium has been carefully integrated into the existing building structure and fabric.
