Tesco Superstore - Enniskillen
The design and build of a new 58,000sq ft food superstore completed with associated car parking and service yards, built to Tesco’s specification. The building was complete with driven pile foundations with reinforced concrete pads and ground beams, a structural steel frame enveloped with architectural blockwork walls and extensive curtain walling. The site posed various challenges including the sinking ground at the rear of the store, near Lough Erne, which required extensive piling to carry the static and working loads of the scheme. The rear of the store was designed as a large service yard comprising of a large concrete apron, laid to falls with oily water interceptors and drainage, compactor pits, dock leveller pits, crash barriers and extensive anti-intruder fencing. The service yard also includes staff car parking and designated safe pedestrian areas. We had to re-route the existing overhead cables and existing public footpaths.
The building was complete with extensive M&E service installation including power, external lighting, CCTV, water, gas, telecoms and drainage, along with external siteworks such as access gates and barriers, landscaping and anti-intruder fencing.
